The Terra Lycos internet portal has signed a deal with Virgula, the tenth most popular Brazilian entertainment website. The Virgula site can now be accessed directly from the Terra homepage. The goal of Terra is to take advantage of the partnership which Virgula has with the Joven Pan group, which includes 41 radio stations, a magazine and a website, to explore the cross-media concept. The Joven Pan group has a strong presence in the youth market and plans to sell CDs andto offer pay-per-view events, coproduced with Terra. The youth segment makes up 30% to 40% of Terra's audience and this has been boosted by 10% with the Virgula deal.
